Welcome to our group, a sacred space for us to connect and share with each other. Thank you for joining and I hope you love it here. I started this group because many years ago I was going through a very rough patch in my spiritual awakening and I was feeling outcasted by people who were supposed to be my family and friends. I was the first person in my immediate family to practice a spiritual path that was considered "taboo" when compared to more mainstream religion. For me, basic spiritual tools like meditation and prayer eventually took me down a path of discovery into my genetics and ancestry and somewhere along the way I fell in love with my history. My family comes from a long line of hoodoo, voodoo, rootwork and conjure so when I became aware of this I simultaneously had an epiphany that many of the things I've already indulged in throughout my life had already been in sync with my ancestral beliefs and practices. It was as if my family on the other side was already waiting for me. But coming out I soon found out that I would run the risk of being talked about, accused of doing dark things, and blatantly disrespected to my face by people I felt were supposed to care about me. This kind of adversity led me to feel depressed and isolated. This was very hard especially because I was going through one of my first spiritual awakenings and if you know about spiritual awakenings then you're familiar with the "shedding" process that comes with it.

My whole purpose in starting this group is not to trauma bond, but to connect with others who are experiencing or have experienced this type of adversity and would like to share their experiences as well as their solutions if applicable. This group is for healing and resources so that no one has to feel isolated. Going through a spiritual upgrade can be hard and can lead to mental health issues or even harming of the self or others. This group is not dedicated to one specific religion or practice, I believe we can all come together and find the common ground that no matter our background it's not ok to exclude someone because of their spiritual beliefs. And with that being said please make this a loving and welcoming space for all who choose to join. There is something to learn from everyone if we allow it 💕
