So even though I'm just starting out in this freelance/blogging lifestyle. I still have to find ways to stay motivated and contribute to my craft every day. Let's face it, just because you're passionate about something doesn't mean that you're going to be in the mood to work on that project or whatever it is that you do aaaaaallllll the time and you might need some inspiration.
So I'm learning as I go, and I'm pacing myself. My life can get kind of hectic at times... I mean what can I say I'm a busy woman and time waits for no man (or woman in my case Lol). I'm a single mom of two, I have a regular full time job, I'm a painter and an occassional blogger.
So that brings us back to the initial question, "how do I stay motivated and productive?" Well first things first. I think about why I initially wanted to become a freelancer. When I do that it immediately inspires me, I could name a miiiiillion reasons!! but here's a few just to start:
1. To inspire others through my art and my stories.
2. To eventually make enough money to work from home and stay with my kiddos more, yaay that's gonna be the best.
3. I want to live my true authentic self, and that means doing what I love. not working for someone else for the rest of my life under someone else's rules.
Another thing I do when I need some motivation is become a stalker, don't judge me...LOL not in a creepy way like peeking through peoples curtains in the middle of the night..but ya know, I'll go check out some of my favorite artists new work on IG (follow me here) or other social media. I even binge watch YouTube tutorials for new painting techniques. I absolutely love learning new things because it challenges me to do things in a new way and it helps me to grow as an artist. I also recommend taking an online course for ways to turn your hobby into a business.(Click link here)
Now those are above all my go-to, tried and true motivation methods for staying productive. What works for you? Leave a comment below.
